Mauritian producer and distributor Grays has extended its Seven Seas series of cane-based spirits with the launch of a coconut-flavoured liqueur.
Seven Seas Mokoko is a cane-based coconut liqueur made in Mauritius. It was created using local sugar cane, triple distilled to create a ‘pure’ cane spirit, and infused with ‘natural’ coconut extraction.
The Mokoko name is a play on the local term of endearment ‘Mon Coco’ which translates to ‘my darling’ or ‘sweetheart’.
The packaging recounts the history of the island drawing inspiration from Mauritian culture, diversity, historical landmarks, agriculture, and fauna and flora.
Alexis Harel, managing director of Grays, said: “Seven Seas Mokoko aptly brings a taste of Mauritius to the world with a label design that visually speaks to the island’s heritage, culture, and natural beauty.
“The liqueur is versatile and refreshing when enjoyed in cocktails and with mixers, bringing the Mauritian lifestyle into homes around the globe.”
The liqueur is recommended served neat, over ice or used to make cocktails such as Bay Breeze or Piña Colada.
Founded in 1931, Grays is part of the Terra Group of companies and is one of the leading distributors of wine and spirits in Mauritius.
Last November, Mauritian rum brand Beach Bum Beverages secured distribution with Alcohaulers in India.
