Taiwanese producer Kavalan will reintroduce its Cask Strength Series to the US through distributor Hotaling & Co.
Kavalan’s Cask Strength range of four whiskies will return to the US for the first time since 2018.
The series includes Kavalan ex-Bourbon Cask Strength (RRP US$200), Oloroso Sherry Cask Strength (RRP US$250), Vinho Barrique Cask Strength (RRP US$250) and Port Cask Strength (RRP US$250).
“This is an exciting time, with the Kavalan Cask Strength Series back in the US,” said YT Lee, CEO of King Car Group, owner of Kavalan.
“We’re looking forward to reacquainting the market to Kavalan’s award-winning pure single malt range through select masterclass and tasting events throughout 2024.”
The range is bottled at natural colour and is non-chill-filtered.
The Cask Strength Series is called Solist in regions outside of the US.
The series can be found at the following US retailers: Total Wine & More, BevMo, Binny’s, K&L Wine Merchants, Tower Beer, Wine & Spirits, Julio’s Liquors, Lee’s Liquors and Reserve Bar.
It is available in nine US states: California, New Jersey, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada and Hawaii.
Kavalan launched three of its whiskies in Ontario last year after striking a deal with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO).
In 2023, the brand completed construction on its third maturation warehouse.
Kavalan also secured a listing with alcohol retailer Symposion to release four expressions in Sweden.
In The World Whisky Masters 2023, the brand was awarded 12 Golds and a Silver.
