Spain’s Zamora Company has extended its Villa Massa range with the launch of an almond-flavoured liqueur.
Villa Massa Amaretto is made with high-quality almonds from Sicily, Italy, which have an intense taste and flavour due to warm temperatures and fertile volcanic oil.
“At Villa Massa we use only the best natural ingredients from Italy, and use traditional methods to capitalise on the premium quality flavours and aromas that they offer,” said Julian Fernandez, global marketing and innovation director for spirits at Zamora Company.
“Sicilian almonds are characterised by their thick, woody shell – it’s nature’s packaging and protects the almond from the outside, in turn preserving the intense flavour and aroma of the fruit inside, which you can appreciate in our Villa Massa Amaretto.”
The ‘sweet and smooth’ liqueur has notes of marzipan on the nose and an ‘intense, long-lasting almond aftertaste’. The palate has hints of vanilla, cherry and cacao.
Bottled at 30% ABV, the expression is recommended served over ice or as a digestif. The liqueur comes in a transparent bottle with a label that features an illustration of an almond garden.
Villa Massa Amaretto will initially launch in the on- and off-trade in the Netherlands with an RRP of €23.49 (US$27.75).
In June last year, Zamora Company extended its Villa Massa limoncello line with the launch of a basil-infused expression.
