To mark International Women’s Day (8 March), The Spirits Business will host an evening of discussions and celebration surrounding women in the hospitality industry.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘accelerate action’, which will form the basis of next week’s event.
‘Actions Speak Louder Than Words: Engaging in Meaningful Change’ will take place on 6 March between 6pm-10pm at The Guards Bar and Lounge at Raffles at The OWO London.
The evening will kick off with bespoke cocktails curated by The Guards Bar and Lounge, setting the perfect ambiance for an engaging chat and networking session.
Following this Melita Kiely, editor-in-chief of The Spirits Business, will chair an exclusive panel discussion with some of the leading ladies in the hospitality industry.
From highlighting their achievements to diving into the treatment of women in the industry, the panel will include discussions with Alice Taraschi, manager of The Guards Bar & Lounge, Hebe Richardson, owner of London bar Soda & Friends, and Siobhan Payne and Hannah Sharman-Cox, co-founders and directors of London Cocktail Week, Hands London Consultancy and The Pinnacle Guide.
“We were blown away by the enthusiasm for last year’s International Women’s Day event, which we designed to not just be a celebration of women, but to offer advice, tips and shared experiences to leave guests feeling empowered and better-equipped to pursue their professional ambitions,” Kiely said.
“This year we’ve taken much the same approach. We want this to be a safe space for open, thoughtful and insightful discussions around women in hospitality, from achievements and success to how we can break down more barriers and support more women in the trade.”
The event, which is exclusively for women-identifying drinks industry professionals, will be sponsored by Cap Gin, Drylaw Vodka, Amber Beverage Group-owned Kah Tequila, Doctor’s Funk, Jackson McCrea, and Rebels 0.0% amaretto. Drinks from all brands will be served throughout the night.
Women from all walks of life are invited to join The Spirits Business for this event, which celebrates the diversity and inclusivity of womanhood, embracing individuals of every background, identity, and experience.
