Drinks distributor Friarwood has added Sash & Fritz Vodka to its range of spirits, and will now exclusively import the brand to the UK.
The German vodka will join Tequila Tromba, Ron Carúpano and Per Se in the company’s spirits portfolio.
Sash & Fritz is made using 100% German wheat and spring water from the Ore Mountains, and features notes of yellow fruits, rich and grainy aromas, and a ‘subtle’ natural sweetness.
The brand was founded in 2015 by Peter Steger, who has 35 years of experience in the industry.
Nelson Bernardes, spirits brands portfolio manager at Friarwood, commented on the new addition: “We take immense pride in representing Sash & Fritz in the UK market.
“This premium vodka, distinguished by its elegant character and superior quality, complements our spirits portfolio and our commitment to offering our customers only the finest spirits.”
Friarwood also added that Sash & Fritz ‘challenges the traditional perception of vodka as a neutral spirit’ and that it ‘stands out with its exceptional flavour profile and meticulous attention to detail’.
Bottled at 40% ABV, it will retail for £38 (US$48) per 700ml bottle.
It is recommended in cocktails such as Mules and Bloody Marys, with the brand saying it particularly shines in a Dry Martini.
Until this year, Friarwood had exclusively operated within wine – since it was founded in 1967 – but it recently expanded into the spirits sector. In September, The Spirits Business spoke to managing director Ben Carfagnini about the move.
Last month, two of Friarwood’s brands – Ron Carúpano and Tromba Tequila – landed on the cocktail menu of Central London’s Ham Yard Hotel.
