ProWine cancels 2020 São Paulo event

Trade fair ProWine has postponed its São Paulo event until 2021 due to “uncertainty” surrounding coronavirus regulations in Brazil.

The ProWine São Paulo trade show had been due to take place from 20 October 2020.

Although bigger events will be allowed to take place in São Paulo from mid-October, the unclear rules surrounding coronavirus restrictions issued by the government were “too big a factor of uncertainty to reliably plan ProWine”, show organiser Messe Düsseldorf said.

As a result, Messe Düsseldorf has decided to postpone the event to October 2021.

Despite being forced to postpone its Brazilian event, Messe Düsseldorf has confirmed that its ProWine China show in Shanghai can be held as planned from 10 to 12 November 2020.

The event has already seen registrations from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture in cooperation with the German Wine Institute, Viniportugal, Advantage Austria, Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association, as well as the GCF Group.

Earlier this year, ProWein cancelled its 2020 flagship Düsseldorf show due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Messe Düsseldorf said it planned to hold its next German event on Sunday 21 March to Tuesday 23 March 2021.
