Wine and spirits trade fair ProWein has extended its 2021 show by two days to ensure the event follows hygiene and safety measures.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, ProWein organiser Messe Düsseldorf has made next year’s show a five-day event to guarantee safety requirements.
The 2021 fair will now be held from Friday 19 March to Tuesday 23 March at the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition centre.
The extended event will allow a maximum of 10,000 visitors per day. The limit on visitors will be managed through online one-day tickets.
“With Caravan Salon, the leading international caravanning trade fair only held in early September, we have proven just how important and at the same time successful trade fairs are even in times of Covid-19,” explained Erhard Wienkamp, managing director, operative trade fair business at Messe Düsseldorf.
“It was the first trade fair across all of Germany after the lockdown proving an important step towards normality in business life.
“The knowhow acquired there can now be leveraged fully for the benefit of the international wine and spirits sector at ProWein – in the interest of our customers, exhibitors and visitors. Even under the new circumstances very good economic results can be achieved.”
During ProWein, there will be dedicated staff touring the halls and monitoring compliance with provisions. The organiser has also made sure that all exhibitors’ employees are registered, including construction staff for the stands.
In March this year, ProWein cancelled its 2020 show due to the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.
