Zamora Company-owned Martin Miller’s has launched Winterful Gin as its second seasonal variant, made with cinnamon and orange peel.
The new limited edition expression is inspired by the ingredients typically used to make mulled wine in England and Iceland. The gin is made using Martin Miller’s Original liquid, which offers a balance of citrus and juniper. Botanicals used to make Winterful include cinnamon and mandarin orange peel, which are added in the third distillation.
The resulting liquid has “warm and complex flavours of cinnamon added with the edge of mandarin peel”.
Jamie Stewart, country manager UK and Ireland, Martin Miller’s Gin, said: “Mulled wine is one of the winter traditions that link Iceland and England – the same bond that defines Martin Miller’s Gin – making it the perfect inspiration for our first winter variant.
“In creating Winterful we wanted to offer our customers our award-winning quality gin, but with a warming winter flavour profile and earthy botanicals suited to the season.
“Unlike flavoured gins, the aromas of cinnamon, mandarin orange and others like cardamom are added using a third distillation, make for a richer, deeper and more complex gin which retains the juniper backdrop but adds this new dimension.”
Winterful is recommended served with ginger beer or tonic water, and garnished with mandarin orange peel and a cinnamon stick. It can also be mixed with red wine, honey, lemon or orange juice and Licor 43 liqueur to make hot serve Gin Mulled Cranberry.
The launch of Winterful follows the release of the brand’s first seasonal expression in February 2020, called Summerful.
Winterful Gin is available to buy from Waitrose stores in the UK from 12 October, priced at £27.99 (US$36). It will also be available on Amazon.
