The new expression from Lo Siento, dubbed Caliente, was designed to rival Fireball and other spicy cinnamon spirits.
Lo Siento Caliente is made from 100% Blue Weber agave and bottled at 35% ABV. The Tequila is available in California, Tennessee, Georgia, and Michigan, with other markets in the south and midwest set to launch later this year.
“Caliente is truly a fun unique experience and we intend to have some fun marketing it,” said Ryan Tierney, founder and CEO of Lo Siento. “Caliente is something that exists inside our portfolio but truly has a life of its own.”
Caliente is priced at US$25 and joins a range that includes blanco, reposado, and añejo Tequilas.
The expression has been particularly popular in Georgia, where it sold 800 cases in its first two weeks of availability. In total, the brand has sold mre than 3,000 cases in the state in the nine months since launch.
“Our latest launch of Caliente is just one of so many recent big wins for the business that we believe put us in a great position,” Tierney added.
“We now have four SKUs, all quality products, that are attainable price points for the consumer. Because of this strategy, we are positioned to sell more than 40,000 cases this year alone.”
Cinnamon flavours have come a long way from the fiery whiskeys of a decade ago, with Baileys debuting a cinnamon churros flavour last September.
As for the flavoured Tequila space, Chica~Chida peanut butter agave spirit landed a spot in our 2024 list of innovative spirits.
