Whitebox expands canned RTD portfolio

Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Whitebox Cocktails has unveiled its latest innovation – a canned Whisky Highball using its own blended Scotch.

The classic whisky cocktail is described as a unique take on the classic Highball serve.

It is said to be a dry, refreshing and malty mix of Scotch and soda, that has been elevated with peach and black tea to give it a ‘fine, crisp finish’.

Alex Lawrence, co-founder of Whitebox Cocktails, said: “Whisky Highballs have grown in popularity all over the world and we’re really happy to add to the category with something that feels brighter in profile but with true respect to the origins.”

The Whisky Highball is canned at 8% ABV, and is vegan and gluten free.

Whitebox said the RTD was created for the warmer months, sunny afternoons and balmy evenings.

It is recommended chilled in the fridge and served in a highball glass with plenty of cubed ice and a lemon wedge garnish.

Whitebox Whisky Highball is available to purchase in packs of 12, priced at RRP £60 (US$71.90), from whiteboxcocktails.com.

Additionally, the single 330ml cans, which retail for £5.50 (US$6.60) each, are available at independent bottle shops and delis across the UK, including Clapton Craft, Eat 17, Forest Wines, Gnarly Vines, Shop Cuvée, and Slurp.

The Whisky Highball joins Whitebox Cocktail’s growing portfolio of RTD cocktails, including the Master medal-winning Pocket Negroni and Freezer Martini, both made with Porter’s Gin, and long serves, such as Disco Baby, made with vodka, watermelon, lemon thyme and soda in collaboration with London cocktail bar Three Sheets.

The brand also launched its Squeezy’s Margarita last summer, which took home a Silver medal in The Pre-Mixed & RTD Masters 2022, and The Classic Cosmo, which launched UK-wide in November.

In November 2019, Lawrence created a blended malt Scotch whisky specifically for mixing in Highballs.
