Vinexpo Paris to shake up spirits format

Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris will be dedicating an entire hall to young producers of spirits and craft beverages next year, alongside a programme ‘more vibrant than ever’.

Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris will take place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, from 13-15 February 2023. In November, the trade show revealed that spirits would be given a greater focus in 2023.

Vinexpo Paris will host Be Spirits in its own dedicated hall for the first time. Be Spirits is described as an ‘event within an event’; it will showcase spirits ranging from craft distilleries to household brands. This year, it will spotlight industry trends.

Be Spirits will also host its 40-metre-long Infinite Bar, a ‘focal point’ in the hall.

There will also be a new area, the Craft Pavilion, which will be reserved for young producers of spirits, ready-to-drink (RTD) products, alcohol-free drinks, ciders and beers.

Featured products in the Craft Pavilion will include gin and pastis from the Distillerie de l’Ort, rum infusions from K’ribean Cocktail-Taleya, and Vylmer Apéritifs.

Next year, spirits, craft and alcohol-free beverages will be given 20% more floor space to welcome 44% more exhibitors.

The international attendance for next year’s event is expected to be strong, with consumers due to visit from Belgium, Canada, the US, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Romania, the UK and Switzerland.

Twenty-seven categories of spirits will be represented, including absinthe, liqueurs, bitter, Pisco, ‘hard tea’ and Japanese spirit shōchū.

New event ‘The Battle of the Mixologists’ will offer a variety of masterclasses hosted, including a masterclass on brandy by Lucien Bernard.
