Tequila producer Siempre has named Stonecutter Spirits co-founder Sivan Cotel as its chief financial officer (CFO).
Cotel brings more than 15 years of experience to the role, having previously held the position of CFO and chief operating officer at Whistlepig Whiskey.
Furthermore, Cotel also boasted a successful career on Wall Street working for Bear Stearns, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
“I first joined the Siempre team in an interim role, but immediately fell in love with the company,” said Cotel.
“Siempre’s two co-founders work tremendously hard, the company is expanding at a rapid pace, and Siempre fans are wildly passionate about the fantastic Tequila we produce.
“Tequila is the fastest-growing category in alcohol, and about to pass vodka as the largest category in the US. When the leadership team asked me to stay on long-term, I was excited to say yes.”
Alex Lacroix, Siempre co-founder and CEO, added: “Sivan joins the Siempre Spirits leadership team at an exciting time as we transition from start-up to a medium sized enterprise.
“We are well positioned to deliver on our business commitments and believe Sivan brings the right skills to help drive Siempre forward on our current path. His financial experience, cultural fit and deep understanding of our industry will align him and the company for continued success.”
In addition to Cotel’s appointment, Siempre Spirits has developed a team of contracted industry veterans that will assist the company’s sales leadership team with distributor management, national pricing management, building market strategies, executing new item presentations to retail chains, and accomplishing various sales and revenue goals.
The brand recently released a limited edition Tequila that harnesses a ‘previously forgotten’ Hispanic-Peruvian distilling method, often referred to as wild or natural fermentation, which allows the spirit to continue fermenting during distillation.
