Prairie Organic Spirits has expanded its portfolio with the launch of its first-ever vodka botanicals collection, Prairie Organic Sustainable Seasons.
Prairie Organic Sustainable Seasons are made with sustainability in mind, the company explains, incorporating organic ingredients. Each 60-proof vodka is naturally flavored and free of chemicals, pesticides and gluten, the company adds, containing zero sugar, carbs or fat, with 75 calories per 1.5-oz. serving.
These new expressions are available in three flavor combinations (with company-provided tasting notes):
Grapefruit, Hibiscus & Chamomile — Infused with grapefruit and hibiscus flavors balanced by notes of earthy and floral chamomile. Now is the first time this citrus fruit has been planted on U.S. soil in 10 years, the company says, making it more sustainable than ever. Watermelon, Cucumber & Lime — Watermelon flavor is a sweet complement to cucumber and zesty citrus notes of lime in this expression. The U.S. Department of Agriculture found more than 35 pesticide residues in conventionally farmed common cucumbers, which can be harmful when ingested. Prairie Organic spirits contain only organic ingredients. Apple, Pear & Ginger — This botanical vodka has a crisp apple flavor that is balanced with juicy pear and finished with the subtle spiciness of ginger. Both apples and pears found their way on Environmental Working Group’s 2020 “Dirty Dozen List,” which annually highlights fruits and vegetables that have the highest pesticide residues when not grown organically.“As we looked to grow our Prairie Organic Spirits portfolio and add a botanicals expression line, we wanted to ensure that it stayed true to our roots and mission of using only sustainably sourced ingredients grown on organic farms, and the Sustainable Seasons line does just that,” says Meghan Murray, VP of marketing at Phillips Distilling Company. “By infusing our award-winning organic vodka with the perfect balance of fresh fruit and herbal flavors, our new botanicals line is the perfect accompaniment to any cocktail – and a true farm-to-bottle experience that tastes just as delicious as it sounds.”
Serve Prairie Organic Sustainable Seasons with soda water over ice to enjoy the fruit-forward flavors, or use these vodkas in classic or altogether new cocktail creations.
Prairie Organic Sustainable Seasons are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $21.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
Prairie Organic Spirits is giving back to the community that harvests the corn to produce these spirits: the organic farmers. In partnership with the Rodale Institute, Prairie Organic Spirits created the Spirit of Change Fund, which champions the next generation of organic farmers by helping more farmers go organic, the company says. It will donate 1% of all sales to the cause.
