McConnell’s Irish Whisky Sherry Cask Finish

McConnell’s Irish Whisky has launched a Sherry Cask Finish expression in the U.S. market with Conecuh Brands.

This new expression joins McConnell’s Irish Whisky, which launched in the U.S. in 2020.

“With the growth of McConnell’s Irish Whisky in the U.S., we will continue to satisfy consumer demand for innovation,” says Jon Dubin, senior brand manager. “This sherry cask-finished McConnell’s is an exceptional representation of the high quality Irish Whisky we are producing and the first in several innovations planned for the brand.”

This new expression matures first in first-fill bourbon barrels, followed by a finish in Oloroso Sherry casks.

The result is aromas of dried figs and currents followed by Christmas spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon, dark chocolate and a hint of leather, the company reports. On the palate is Demerara sugar, dark ripe cherries and black raspberry, followed by dark chocolate shavings and red apples. The finish contains lingering oak notes with a hint of leather and clove spice.McConnell’s Irish Whisky Sherry Cask Finish is 46% ABV. The suggested retail price is $42.99 per 750-ml. bottle. The post McConnell’s Irish Whisky Sherry Cask Finish first appeared on Beverage Dynamics.
