Kiss debuts Black Diamond rum

American rock band Kiss has unveiled the first release in its collaboration with Swedish drinks company Brands for Fans, Kiss Black Diamond rum.

Heavy metal band Kiss, which is known for its members’ elaborate face paint and stage outfits, comprises Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. Kiss first announced its intention to enter the spirits market earlier this month.
The first release from the Kiss Rum Kollection, Kiss Black Diamond rum is made using a blend of Caribbean rums aged for up to 15 years.

Named after the final track on the band’s debut album, Kiss, Black Diamond rum is said to offer “restrained sweetness and a marked oak-character”. On the palate, drinkers will find notes of dried apricot, arrack, vanilla, nuts, dried dates, vanilla fudge, cinnamon and chocolate.

Bottled at 40% ABV, the rum is packaged with a label inspired by the band’s early days, referencing its costumes and stage makeup.

Sari H Wilholm, marketing director and co-founder of Brands for Fans, said: “It’s an amazing match for a band who were pioneers both musically and visually in the world of rock ’n’ roll.

“When I look at the bottle, we have created a label that embodies everything I associate with Kiss: the attitude, the costumes, the songs and the makeup we all grew up with. Listening to Black Diamond still gives me the chills, and the rum makes me just as excited.”

Kiss Black Diamond is available to purchase now and carries an RRP of SEK369 (US$42).
