El Tequileño grows availability in Australia

Charter Brands is helping El Tequileño expand its presence in Australia after securing additional distribution with CNV Liquor.

The brand’s seven-strong range of Tequilas will be available via CNV Liquor. The brand is already available in alcohol retail chain Dan Murphy’s.

“Considering the profile El Tequileño is building in the global spirits industry, the unbelievable number of awards received and the quality of their Tequilas, we jumped at the opportunity to add El Tequileño to CNV Liquor’s portfolio,” commented Nick Chappell, owner of CNV Liquor.

“El Tequileño has all the qualities for introducing a new brand to Australia and with the burgeoning popularity for Tequila right now, it’s the perfect mix for success.”

Made in Mexico, the Tequila brand has been building its presence in the Australian on-trade via distribution partner Charter Brands since 2021.

The brand has also seen success in The Global Spirits Masters Competitions, securing a number of medals in The Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2021 blind tasting. Medal wins included the top Master award for its Añejo Gran Reserva expression.

Steffin Oghene, vice-president global marketing and business development at the Tequila brand, said: “The Australian market was an extremely appealing prospect for Tequila El Tequileño. A solid cocktail scene and established retail have provided the foundation to the strong agave spirit growth in Australia.

“Partnering with CNV Liquor, an agave specialist with deep knowledge in the on- and off-premise channels was the perfect match. El Tequileño has launched strong, and we look forward to spreading the quality of ‘Mexico’s best-kept secret’ further in the Australian market.”

Earlier this week, Langley’s Gin – owned by Charter Brands – secured a distribution deal in France, partnering with L’Explorateur du Goût.
