Dead Man’s Fingers moves into Tequila

Halewood Artisanal Spirits has released its first Tequila under the Dead Man’s Fingers rum brand.

Dead Man’s Fingers has released a reposado Tequila, marking the brand’s first category expansion.

The expression was aged in Bourbon barrels and offers notes of vanilla and honey.

Rachel Adams, global marketing manager for the brand, said: “Dead Man’s Fingers is about challenging convention and shaking up the rules.

“We’ve seen huge success within the rum category with our Spiced, White and flavoured variants which continue to attract incremental shoppers, and now we’re bringing this same energy into the Tequila category with this delicious reposado launch.

“Tequila has seen good growth over the past couple of years, particularly within the on-trade ahead of the pandemic, but then also benefitting from the rise in popularity of cocktails at home during lockdowns.

“As a result, it’s a really exciting time to be entering such a vibrant category with our Dead Man’s Fingers Reposado, which we’re confident will appeal to our adventurous Dead Man’s Fingers rum fans and excite drinkers about the versatility and vibrancy of Tequila.”

Halewood recommends serving the Tequila neat or as the base for a Paloma with lemonade and a grapefruit garnish.

Other suggested serves include mixing the Tequila to make a Margarita or combining it with triple sec, orange juice and grenadine to make a Tequila Sunrise.

The reposado (40% ABV) is available to buy via Booker and Tesco stores in the UK, priced at RRP £22 (US$28) per 700ml bottle.

Earlier this year, the brand entered the cream liqueur category with the launch of a raspberry-flavoured expression.

In 2021, the brand released Black Rum and White Rum to shake up the traditional rum category.

Halewood added four flavours to the brand’s rum range in summer 2020 – Lime, Raspberry, Passionfruit and Hazelnut. A banana-flavoured variant was released in March 2021.
