Brewdog debuts new line of vodkas

Scottish producer Brewdog Distilling Co has launched a new portfolio of vodkas made from beer that doesn’t meet its brewery’s ‘exacting standards’.

Bad Beer Vodka is a range comprising three bottlings: the Original, with notes of caramel and vanilla; the Vanilla and Toasted Marshmellow, with flavours of marshmallow and Madagascan vanilla; and the Tropical Guava, a ‘powerhouse’ of tropical fruits.

The vodka is made using any beer, from Indian pale ale to stout, that ‘that doesn’t quite make the cut’, according to Brewdog.

The vodkas are available in-store and online from UK supermarket Tesco, as well as the brand’s official website. Retailing for £20 (US$22.63) per bottle, the range is packaged in recycled glass featuring a wood pulp label – the brand’s ‘next step’ in its commitment to the environment.

CEO James Watt said: “This is a hugely exciting launch for Brewdog and Brewdog Distilling Co, highlighting both businesses’ commitment to the environment. We are looking forward to continuing our research into new ways to prevent wastage in our industry.”

All vodkas clock in at 40% ABV.

In January this year, Brewdog unveiled a navy strength bottling as the latest addition to its Lonewolf Gin line.
