Barrell Announces Barrell Bourbon New Year 2021

Barrell Craft Spirits has released Barrell Bourbon New Year 2021.

Every fall season the company puts together a new blend that toasts the next year to come.

The 2021 iteration is a mixture of straight bourbons aged 5, 9, 10 and 11 years. These whiskeys were distilled in seven different states: KY, TN, IN, NY, TX, WY and CO.

The whiskey aged in American white oak barrels.

On the nose are gooseberry, apple, watermelon and peach, the company reports, with vanilla oak, sawdust and toasted coconut, plus notes of cilantro and wintergreen from the rye in the mash bill. The palate opens grassy with thyme and Yorkshire pudding before giving way to flavors of raisin, black tea, persimmon and lemon. Company-provided tasting notes further describe the finish as mineral at first, followed by herbs and spices: apple blossom, hyssop, wild mint and clove.

Barrell Bourbon New Year 2021 is 113.9 proof, and was bottled in Kentucky.

The suggested retail price is $89.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Launched seven years ago, Barrell Bourbon is emblematic of modern American whiskey blending. The company works with around 65 suppliers in amassing an array of bourbons, ryes, other whiskeys and rums for mixing. Every bottle released is cask strength, single barrel and limited edition.

Barrell Bourbon New Year 2021 follows the recent releases of the company’s BCS Bourbon, and Barrell Bourbon Batch 023 and 003.The post Barrell Announces Barrell Bourbon New Year 2021 first appeared on Beverage Dynamics.
