Avuá Cachaça partners with Hardy Cognac

Small batch brand Avuá Cachaça has created a new limited edition expression in partnership with Hardy Cognac.

Avuá Cachaça Copan Limited Edition was created as an experiment with Craig Schoettler of MGM Resorts and the producers of Hardy Cognac.

Limited to 600 bottles, the cachaça was aged for up to two years in tapinhoā barrels before being finished in a Hardy Cognac cask for nine months.

Tasting notes include toasted coconut and pine trees.

Avuá Cachaça is made in the hills of Carmo near Rio de Janeiro. The sugarcane used to make the spirit is harvested from single estate fields on a family-owned farm.

Pete Nevenglosky, co-founder of Avuá Cachaça, said: “Avuá Cachaça’s eight offerings and multiple indigenous wood-aging experiments challenge the perception of the cachaça category.”

Bottled at 40% ABV, Avuá Cachaça Limited Edition has an RRP of US$149.99 per 750ml bottle.
