A de Fussigny debuts organic range

Cognac house A de Fussigny has introduced the Pure Organic range, which includes VS, VSOP and XO bottlings.

The range has been launched to mark A de Fussigny’s 20 years in producing organic Cognacs. In 2001, the VSOP Pure Organic was created, said to be one of the first organic Cognacs on the market. The range was initially set to launch in November 2021, but due to supply issues the release was delayed.

The Cognacs are crafted from certified organic wines, with each boasting floral notes and packaged sustainably. The corks are compostable and the labels are made from recycled paper.

In addition to the new collection, the group began integrating its organic eaux-de-vie into its standard ranges to increase market demand and motivate winegrowers to convert to organic agricultural practices.

According to the brand, just 1% of Cognac vineyards are farmed organically. The company is aiming to work with winegrowers who wish align themselves with organic farming.

Furthermore, to promote biodiversity, A de Fussigny is investing in revegetation and entomology on its site through a planting project.

Last year, the brand updated the packaging for its Extra bottling using locally sourced materials.

In 2015, A de Fussigny launched a VSOP Collection Set comprising five single cru expressions: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois, plus Pure Organic.
