Label 5 creates single grain Scotch whisky

Scotch whisky brand Label 5 has released its first single grain expression, which has been finished in ex-Bourbon barrels.

The “smooth” Label 5 Bourbon Barrel whisky was matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, which provide flavours of vanilla, oak and subtle fruitiness.

It is recommended served over ice, mixed with cola or used as the base for cocktails such as an Old Fashioned.

The whisky was distilled at the brand’s grain distillery in Edinburgh, which also houses maturation warehouses and bottling facilities. As such, the brand has complete control over its production to ensure the highest standard of quality.

Julia Pinocely, international brand manager for Label 5, said: “The launch of Label 5 Bourbon Barrel marks a very exciting time for the brand. Unveiling a single grain Scotch whisky as part of the Label 5 collection further cements our expertise in the market and will be of great appeal to our consumers and partners across the world.”

Bottled at 40% ABV Label 5 Bourbon Barrel is available globally in 700ml, 750ml and 100ml bottle sizes. A 700ml bottle is priced at RRP £17 (US$22).
