Independent bottler The Single Cask has launched a four-year-old whisky and will donate all profits to healthcare charities.
The Inchfad 4 Years Old Whisky (NHS Exclusive) was created at Highland distillery Loch Lomond.
The bottling was inspired by frontline workers, including NHS and healthcare staff, who have faced increased challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Distilled in 2016, the whisky has been matured for four years in an ex-Bourbon cask. It has been bottled at cask strength, 61.4% ABV, without caramel colouring or chill filtration.
A total of 197 bottles have been created, priced at RRP £49 (US$64) per 700ml.
Tasting notes include barbecued, smoky pineapple on the nose, leading to soft tropical fruit on the palate (pineapple and mango), with malt character and a touch of white pepper and cinnamon.
The finish is said to be ‘long and satisfying’ with flavours of smoked pineapple, malt, oak and wood spice.
