English brand Highclere Castle Gin hosted the winner of its US contest at its home, which is the set of TV show Downton Abbey.
The contest winner, Gail Fulco Tantorski from North Haven, has long been a fan of the TV series Downton Abbey and the subsequent movies.
Last month, however, her experience took an exciting turn when she won an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK to visit Highclere Castle – where the series is filmed.
The contest, sponsored by Highclere Castle Gin, was organised to celebrate the upcoming release of the third Downton Abbey film.
The winner of the US exclusive contest was chosen from more than 10,500 entries to enjoy a three-day, two-night stay in England. The prize package included round-trip airfare, accommodation, ground transportation, an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Highclere Castle and its 5,000-acre estate, and tickets to a private VIP cocktail party hosted by Lord and Lady Carnarvon, the current residents of the castle.
Tantorski said: “Thank you to Highclere Castle Gin for this incredible opportunity to travel to England and attend such a fabulous cocktail party at Highclere Castle. It truly was the trip of a lifetime. I returned home with wonderful memories – and a few new cocktail recipes.
“Highclere Castle Gin is my favourite gin, and nothing else compares. I’m forever grateful for this unforgettable experience.”
Launched in 2019, Highclere Castle Gin is crafted using botanicals sourced directly from the estate grounds, including citrus from the Victorian-era orangery and lavender originally planted in the ninth century by the Bishop of Winchester.
The brand was co-founded by the Carnarvons, along with American spirits entrepreneur Adam von Gootkin.
This year, Highclere Castle was awarded Gold medals in both The Gin Masters 2024 – First Tasting and The Luxury Masters.
In August, the brand reported a 29% increase in global sales during the first half of 2024 and partnered with 2.0 & Partners to launch in global travel retail.
