Hendrick’s creates its sixth wonder

William Grant & Sons-owned Hendrick’s has unveiled Oasium, the sixth limited edition gin in its Cabinet of Curiosities series.

Drawing inspiration from master distiller Lesley Gracie’s ‘curious expedition’ to a desert oasis, Oasium is said to be bursting with tangy citrus notes, as lush botanicals elevate the gin’s crisp, green profile.

Gracie, who said she has long been captivated by crafting intriguing botanical blends to tell the stories of her personal experiences, drew inspiration from an ‘unusual’ journey involving camel polo and sun-drenched sands. On this journey she found herself inspired by a hidden paradise ‘brimming with cooling herbs and vibrant fruits’.

This latest expression is said to be a bottling of that experience.

“I find endless inspiration in my surroundings, and every time I see the palm trees in the Hendrick’s Gin Palace, I’m transported back to this extraordinary trip,” said Gracie. “It was such a remarkable journey that I had to capture it in a gin, preserving the memory forever.

“As someone who’s always in search of new flavours, it was fascinating to see what plants grow and thrive in an oasis. There’s a very distinct, fresh green character and bright citrus note to Hendrick’s Oasium, rounded off by aromatic herbs that play delightfully well together.”

Utilising Hendrick’s Gin as a base and building on its infusions of rose and cucumber, Oasium offers an ‘invigorating twist’ to the classic, and is described as ideal for gin enthusiasts ‘seeking a flavour as vibrant as the desert sun’.

“Hendrick’s Oasium transports you to a refreshing sanctuary and each sip reveals layers of botanical intrigue,” said Vance Henderson, US ambassador for Hendrick’s Gin.

“Its versatility shines brilliantly in cocktails – whether elevating a classic Gin & Tonic with our signature cucumber garnish or delivering a tangy thrill in the Oasium Fizz.

“Fresh grapefruit juice complements the gin’s vibrant notes, resulting in a divine twist reminiscent of a Paloma, perfect for all manners of gathering together under sun or stars.”

Oasium is presented in the brand’s signature apothecary-style bottle, with the addition of an orange label.

Hendrick’s Oasium, bottled at 43.4% ABV, is available for RRP US$39.99.

Other gins in the Cabinet of Curiosities range include Midsummer Solstice and Lunar.

Last year, Hendrick’s released an experimental expression containing stone fruit and sweet herbs, called Grand Cabaret, which is also part of the series.
