Delamain and 67 Pall Mall create Cognac

London-based members’ club 67 Pall Mall has partnered with Cognac producer Delamain on an exclusive bottling.

The 67 Edition was blended by Delamain cellar master Dominique Touteau and selected by the club’s founder and CEO, Grant Ashton.

Old Grande Champagne Cognacs were blended with a 1967 vintage from 67 Pall Mall, which was ‘deeply rich, round and complex in flavour’.

Touteau said: “I immensely enjoyed the journey of marrying the 1967 with the elegance and finesse of selected old Grande Champagne Cognacs; these Cognacs [were] chosen to both showcase the jewel and because they could themselves be enriched by the remarkable maturity of the 1967.”

On the nose, the Cognac has notes of pear, fresh fig, buttery brioche and raisins. The palate offers ‘rich, mellow flavours of fig jam, ending with the slightest autumnal notes’.

Delamain Cognac – The 67 Edition is available to buy from the members’ club in a 700ml bottle, 1,500ml magnum, or 3,000ml double magnum. It has an RRP of £195 (US$259) per 700ml.

Last month, The Spirits Business spoke to the managing director of Delamain Cognac about the house’s history, unique vintages, future plans and the importance of family.
