Crown Royal expands Noble Collection with rye whisky

Diageo-owned Canadian whisky Crown Royal has added a limited edition 16-year-old rye expression to its Noble Collection.

Available in limited quantities, Crown Royal Noble Collection Rye Aged 16 Years is the fifth annual release to join the whisky range.

The Noble Collection highlights the Canadian whisky brand’s various techniques and styles from its master blenders, who experiment with different flavours and methods. The 2019 Noble Collection edition was finished in French oak barrels sourced from the Vosges region in France.

The latest whisky in the series has a ‘bold and spice rye aroma softened by creamy vanilla, sweet caramel, and hints of stone fruit. The palate features ‘bold’ rye and hints of cherries, cinnamon, anise and clove.

The rye whisky comes in a bottle with a cut crystal-style base and a resealable cork top. The box is deep purple to match the brand’s signature colour, while the bottle has gold detailing.

The whisky is bottled at 45% ABV and is available in the US, priced at US$69.99 per 750ml.

Crown Royal is the world’s biggest-selling Canadian whisky brand, selling nearly eight million nine-litre cases in 2019, according to Brand Champions data.
