Buffalo Trace Distillery has announced its winter 2020 allocation of Stagg Jr. bourbon whiskey.
This is 15th release in the series, weighing in at 131.1 proof. Like previous versions, Stagg Jr. is uncut, unfiltered, aged over eight years, and has a taste profile similar to its elder statesman, George T. Stagg.
Tasting notes describe this barrel-proof whiskey with vanilla bean and salted caramel front and center on the nose, cherries, cinnamon and oak on the palate, and a long finish of toasted vanilla, pepper, coffee and hints of sweet mint.
Introduced in 2013, Stagg Jr. has became a favorite of whiskey enthusiasts, and is now a hotly pursued bottle.
Only two batches of Stagg Jr. come out each year. This 15th batch is headed to retailers now. The next release launches in late spring 2021.
The suggested retail price is $49.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
The Stagg line is named after George T. Stagg, one of the craftsmen of Buffalo Trace Distillery, whose work helped establish one of America’s dominant distilleries in the 18th century.
This follows releases releases from Buffalo Trace Distillery, including the 1995 Vintage O.F.C. Bourbon, 2020 Van Winkle bourbons and 2020 Antique Collection. The post Buffalo Trace Releases Stagg Jr. Winter 2020 Batch first appeared on Beverage Dynamics.
