Kent-based Bathtub Gin has partnered with acclaimed local ceramist Harlie Brown to create a limited edition bottle and ‘Le Punch’ bowl set.
The collaboration forms part of Bathtub Gin’s Winter of Punch campaign, which celebrates the resurgence of large-format sharing serves as dinner parties and home entertaining make a strong comeback.
According to Mintel, 64% of consumers have arranged at least one ‘big night in’ instead of going out in the last 12 months.
Hannah Burden-Teh, global brand director for Bathtub Gin, explained: “Through our Winter of Punch campaign, we’re celebrating the classic punch serve, which is often under-rated but perfect for at-home hosting.
“It’s easy to prepare, allows for lower-ABV serves, and, just like sharing plates, Punch bowls create a shared experience that’s making a real comeback.”
The limited edition bottle’s design features hand-drawn illustrations of the six botanicals that make up Bathtub Gin’s double-infused recipe.
The Punch bowl has been designed to complement this with Brown’s signature ‘wiggle’ details and a distinctive melted glaze finish, reflecting her organically shaped, hand-built ceramics, which ensure no two pieces are ever alike.
‘Strong comeback’ for home entertaining
Burden-Teh added: “Harlie is well known for her beautifully illustrated tableware, and the fact that she’s also Kent-based made her the perfect choice for this collaboration.
“With home entertaining making such a strong comeback, we wanted to create a gift set designed specifically for dinner and drinks parties. Harlie’s playful designs complement the rustic charm of Bathtub’s hand-wrapped brown paper label, bringing together a product that’s as aesthetically striking as it is practical.”
Harlie Brown Studio was founded by Brown and her husband, Dan, who illustrates each piece. Brown said: “This collaboration has been such an exciting opportunity for Dan and I to create something unique that captures the beauty of Bathtub’s botanicals through our own artistic styles.
“As more and more people are bringing friends and family together at home, we wanted to design a statement piece that could add warmth and charm to any gathering. What makes this Punch bowl especially meaningful is that it’s the first time Dan’s illustrations and my glaze technique are together on a single piece.
“Seeing our styles merge like this has been a joyous process, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone who loves considered design and the art of home entertaining.”
The set is available exclusively through Bathtub Gin’s website for £130 (US$168), with the bottle available standalone for £34.95 (US$45) at Master of Malt.
Bathtub Gin launched its first flavoured expression and unveiled a redesign in 2022.
