Diageo-owned Baileys Irish cream liqueur has released a limited edition apple pie-flavoured variant in the US.
The new Baileys Apple Pie liqueur is described as a blend of the flavours of freshly baked apple pie and vanilla ice cream, along with hints of cinnamon and spice.
Baileys hopes to encourage consumers to celebrate with friends and families ahead of seasonal holidays such as thanksgiving.
The brand claims to be an early pioneer of the ‘friendsgiving’ occasion, whereby family and friends can celebrate together during occasions that “aren’t necessarily tied to a month or even a season”.
“Apple pie is a timeless, nostalgic American treat meant to be shared among loved ones,” said Stacey Cunningham, director of liqueurs at Diageo. “With the launch of Baileys Apple Pie, we hope to provide consumers with a convenient way to experience this familiar comfort.
“We encourage consumers to celebrate the season responsibly and enjoy the indulgence of Baileys Apple Pie with friends and family.”
Bottled at 17% ABV, the new liqueur is recommended served neat, over ice, in coffee or chai tea, or over ice cream.
Baileys has also partnered with home delivery service Cocktail Courier and American pastry chef and TV personality Zac Young to create a Baileys Apple Pie Friendsgiving Kit. The kit comes with all the ingredients needed to make The Apple of my Chai cocktail, described as a twist on a chai tea latte. The set also includes six cakes infused with Baileys Apple Pie liqueur and made by Young.
Baileys Apple Pie is priced at US$24.99 per 750ml bottle and is available across the US. The Baileys Apple Pie Friendsgiving Kit is available to buy for US$84.99 from Cocktail Courier while supplies last. The kit can make 12 drinks.
Diageo also recently released a limited edition Baileys red velvet cake-flavoured liqueur in the UK and US.
