Calvados brand Avallen will launch in Australia after signing a distribution deal with importer Stuart Alexander.
Planet-conscious brand Avallen was created by Healthy Hospo founder Tim Etherington-Judge and wine and spirits specialist Stephanie Jordan in April last year.
Etherington-Judge said: “In Australia, environmental issues are a major concern to 77% of households, so we’re extremely excited to be partnering with Stuart Alexander to take our planet positive spirit, Avallen, to Australia.
“The Australian food and drink industry is extremely dynamic and we feel that Avallen will be a great addition to the exciting sustainable spirits portfolio that Stuart Alexander is building.”
Stuart Alexander will manage distribution, brand growth in the on- and off-trade, and customer support for Avallen. Australia will be the second market for the brand in the Asia Pacific region after Hong Kong.
Nick Nairn, Stuart Alexander CEO, said: “Avallen is an inspiring brand with sustainability at its very core, and is tapping into a large and growing awareness by Australian consumers of the environmental impact of the brands they consume.
“We look forward to reigniting the Calvados segment in Australia across both on-premise and off-premise channels.”
The Calvados producer is currently looking to raise £250,000 (US$316,000) through crowdfunding to support its growth.
